Official Checkers Rules Used in This Game

Board: Play takes place on the 32 dark squares of an 8×8 board. Each side starts with 12 checkers.
First move: Red moves first.
Regular move: A regular checker moves one square diagonally forward to an empty dark square.
Capture: Jump over an adjacent opposing checker into the empty square beyond it. The jumped checker is removed.
Mandatory capture: When a capture is available, it must be taken.
Multiple jumps: If the same checker can capture again, it must continue jumping during that turn.
Kings: A checker reaching the farthest row becomes a king. Kings move and capture diagonally forward or backward.
Winning: Capture all opposing checkers or leave the opponent with no legal move.

This game uses standard American/English checkers. A newly crowned king uses king movement beginning on its next turn.
